INDUSTRIAL IMPACT

Pilot 1
STARAMAKI (Greece)

  • Sector: Bio-based materials & circular manufacturing

STARAMAKI is scaling its production of wheat-straw-based materials by introducing robotics and digital traceability systems. Within IGNITE-LDR, Delta robots support automated processing, while IoT-enabled tracking improves transparency across the supply chain from field to factory.

  • Expected impact

Higher production speed • reduced waste • improved traceability • scalable circular manufacturing

Pilot 2
EUROPACK BULGARIA (Bulgaria)

  • Sector: Sustainable packaging materials (stone paper)

EUROPACK will deploy waste tracking and analytics tools to monitor material flows throughout production. These solutions support better resource reuse and enable more circular manufacturing processes for innovative stone-paper products.

  • Expected impact

Reduced material waste • improved resource efficiency • stronger circular economy practices.

Pilot 3
GLNP & FAMOLDE (Portugal)

  • Sector: Mould manufacturing & thermoplastics injection

GLNP and FAMOLDE will implement defect detection systems and improve integration between production and supply-chain data. These solutions optimize both tool manufacturing and injection processes while improving coordination across manufacturing stages.

  • Expected impact

Improved product quality • fewer defects • enhanced supply-chain coordination • higher production efficiency.

Pilot 4
HS BACO PANELS (Romania)

  • Sector: Wood panel manufacturing

HS BACO PANELS will introduce digital monitoring tools to improve compliance tracking, energy performance and sustainability across its production processes. The pilot demonstrates how traditional wood manufacturing can benefit from smarter resource management.

  • Expected impact

Improved energy efficiency • stronger compliance monitoring • enhanced sustainability performance.

Pilot 5
SEACSUB (Italy)

  • Sector: Sporting and diving equipment manufacturing

SEACSUB will deploy energy-efficient production scheduling and automated quality inspection supported by robotics and data analytics. These tools will optimise manufacturing workflows while ensuring higher product quality and reduced energy consumption.

  • Expected impact

Optimised production scheduling • automated quality control • reduced energy use • improved product reliability.

Pilot 6
TAPI (Poland)

  • Sector: Footwear manufacturing

TAPI will introduce flexible automation, 3D printing technologies and real-time production tracking to support more adaptive and customised shoe manufacturing. The pilot highlights how SMEs can increase flexibility while improving efficiency.

  • Expected impact

Greater production flexibility • real-time monitoring • customised manufacturing capability • improved efficiency.

  • 10–15 third-party experiments (ITEs)

Focusing on:

  • production optimisation
  • automation and robotics
  • digital and cloud-based tools
  • sustainable and circular manufacturing
